Royal Victoria is a splendid area in East London, E16.
Previously the Docks was part of the Port of London, which was the world’s largest port. The area is now redeveloped for commercial and residential use.
There are many activities to enjoy in Royal Docks such as the Emirates Air Line, cable car. It is the first cable car of this kind in the UK, extending to the River Thames. It has spectacular views and is considered a leisure attraction in its own as well as a form of transport. As the cable cars go up 90 meters above the River Thames, some of the splendid views include St Paul’s Cathedral, the Gherkin, The Shard, Thames Barrier, and Queen Olympic Park. Another link through the cable cars is to the famous O2 Arena. It is a venue for music, sports and entertainment with nearby cinemas, restaurants and attractions.
Supermarket, restaurants, and shops are also available within a short walk.
The Elizabeth line’s arrival at Custom House next year will transform Royal Docks with trains to Canary Wharf in three minutes, Liverpool Street in 10 minutes, Bond Street in 17 minutes and Heathrow in 45 minutes.
